Post by 1979cordoba » Wed May 09, 2012 2:56 pm

I just changed my front tires from 185/60/15 to 185/65/15 on my 02 neon, does anyone know how i can have the speedometer read correctly again?

Sorry to say, you can't. They don't make different toothed gears for the trans (if you have an MTX) like they used to.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

If you have the 41te AXT, you could have the pinion factor recalibrated, but expect to pay an hours labor/whatever the dealer wants to charge. Not really worth it for 2 or 3 mph off.

It's not off enough to really make a difference anyway, at 60mph your speedo will be at 61.8mph. I've seen trucks with huge off-road tires where the speedo is basically useless.
