TEIN Basic Coilovers!!!

Post by tamadrumr88 » Fri Jan 20, 2006 11:25 pm

well everythings finally done so allow me to clean up before i take any pics. i thought i wouldve dropped more but i lost a good 1.5" front and 2" rear.... on 15's i have a 2 finger gap above the tire so figure less on my 16's..... i actually raised the rear because the rear tires were tucked but the camber was way negative visually and they ride a little better when its not dropped as low as possible

best part about this.... 3 wheel fun coming up the driveway and around tight fast corners and no more understeer from my excessively thick 29mm hotchkis front sway bar

the spring rates are 280lb/in at each corner however i was expecting it too be harsh. its not bad at all on 15's but the weak link in the suspension is def the 185/60-15 goodyear eagle ls's.... hopefully my stock 16" wheels with 205/50-16 perform better

why would you lose fender gap by going back to your 16s? are you not running the same overall size tire on either rim?

uh cuz the 15s are way smaller :)

185/60-15 -> 205/50-16

just compare pics of srts

thats the srt i got it off of... thats about the same drop but that has much much more tire and rim and thats why it fills up the fender more.

ill make sure to take a before/after pics going from 15s to 16s to illustrate the difference

have you ever checked out the total overall height difference? I know at 60 MPH the difference is .89 MPH, so I don't think the height difference would be that much, maybe take a picture of one next to the other?

That looks nice! Your car makes me horny. How long was the install? Any help? Any problems? Someone else do it?
