My interview at Advance Auto is tomorrow.

I'll be keeping my job at the hotel, and work there 1-2 days/week if they'll take me after I tell them all the days this summer I need off

. If they say no, they say no; I'm not flat-out broke, but some extra cash would be nice. Plus, the experience would be awesome and I would just love to put myself in debt using any discounts they give me

. I'll let you guys know tomorrow if I get it. My male friends don't think I'll get it, presumably because I'm a chick, but it's just a cash register/salesperson position so... they can suck it

.

Anyone here currently work there? Do you like it? Just wondering..

there is always 1 or 2 females working at my local autozone and advanced autoparts. I have had a few friends that have worked there and one that currently does and has for over 6 years. Good luck!

We have two Advance Autos in our town, and I've seen a female working at the other one, and the nice lady that is interviewing me is female soo, yeah, I think my pals are just too manly for themselves XD

i worked for that company for five years.... you will get the job. but i have not nice things to say how that company is ran overal.. best of luck at the interview!

If you know the differences between a headlight and a tail light.. im sure you'll be fine. (plus thats what the computer is for to look stuff up). Just dont psych yourself out of it before the interview though. Be confident.. but not overly "im amazing because... GIRL POWER". lol.

All the girls I see at auto parts stores are more manly then the guys working there.. lol.

Lol, if I don't pass the background check, that would be news to me.. I thought I was done burning down buildings in my sleep, they put me on sleepwalking medicine I swear!

I forgot to ask what the discount is. That's probably not something to ask in an interview anyways haha.. I always hear you're not supposed to ask about $ in the first interview and whatnot.

I worked there for almost 5 years back when I was in high school and into college. I also don't really have much positive to say about the place. They always messed up our checks and then went to paying us with a debit card that we got charged to use and it was just a huge pain in the butt. Not sure if they still do it that way but that was several years ago.

Every store manager I ever had was a lazy POS and didn't do a thing all day. They would sit in their "office" and pretend to work while the two people actually working were slammed. And truck days are the worst experience you will ever have. They just pour random stuff into boxes and it's in no way shape or form organized and will take you a full day if not two to put on the shelves. Find out what day their truck day is and tell them you work at the hotel that day.

Also, every customer knows more than you. At least they think so anyways.

Oh jeez.. I hope I have a better experience lol. I actually do work their truck days, which are Sundays and Wednesdays. She mentioned the debit cards but we do have a direct deposit option, which is what I do at the hotel so I will continue to do that. If it truly isn't a super place to work, I hope I don't get to see most of the bad side of it.. I will only be working 2 days per week probably at the most. Hopefully. She seemed like she wanted to give me more..

I work at Autozone and its pretty cool. I just don't care for many of the customers that come in there. They either, don't know what kind of car they drove up there, what size motor is in it (women get excused......sometimes)

, they know more than me, the guy with all the info on the computer screen in front of me lol, or they're trying to steal.

Company wise, I like it. Started in March and training to manage the place already!
