Electric exhaust cutout

Electric exhaust cutout

Post by tniemuth95 » Mon Jun 11, 2012 10:53 am

Hey guys, I'm interested in installing an electric exhaust cutout on my 2000 neon. I'm wondering if anyone else has them or has seen them done.
-Wheres the best place to put them? -Looking under my car it's gonna be hard to get it in before the cat but if there's a way to do it let me know.
-Any brand that fits better?

I found a manufacturer that offers an oval cut out instead of a circle for a lower profile and I think I would have to do that since it's already so tight on space under there.

The same company offers a down pipe with a cutout made for the SRT-4 but I feel I'd have some problems since my car is N/A.

Any info is appreciated!

Any specific reason as to y u want/need this? Jw y u want to go thru the trouble and expense, unless u have decent work to the engine and go to the track often to where this mod would come in use?

I have the QTP Y pipe and the electric motor that I got welded on my downpipe and it is a nice product and the motor works great.

On a N/A car, it's going to be very obnoxiously LOUD and you won't see any benefits really, only in high RPMs.

+1. Your car is N/A; it'd be worthless and stupid.

But come on, How else can you annoy the neighbors at 6:00 am - at the flip of a switch?

Hell, if I got one for free....

Hmm if the gains arn't there I might pass on it. my neon is my track car but since I don't have a trailer I have to drive it to tracks as well, hence the reason for the wanting the option. But idk if its worth $200 just to piss off my neighbors

Summit Racing had one on their clearance table for $50. If I had the $$ t buy it, I prolly would have re sold it on here for a small mark up.

Not worth the gains. Spend that $200 somewhere else that would benefit you at the track.

I miss my neon at times. She treated me well and taught me a lot about cars in general. I will always have a special place in my heart for these cars. Heres to the 2gn community.
