Best thing to buy for 200 bucks, going to the city tomorrow

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Looking for best bang for your buck mods. Lights, cheapish header, high performance wires, k&n filter any sorta accent lights, etc shoot me some ideas please lol :)

Underdrive pulley if they have them. That's the only affordable one I can think of, maybe an intake if they have a cheap one.

I don't think th under drive pulley would be an option my alternator already has trouble keeping up with my stereo system but if I was getting into racing or any thing id drop the stereo and defiantly put an under drive pulley on. What's good for intake?

Capacitors are useless.

The big 3 is a wire upgrade. The ground from the strut tower to the negative post on the battery, the ground from the engine to the chasis, and the hot wire from the alt. to the battery are all replaced with 0AWG wire.

I'll second that on the , waste of 50 bucks. What's that gonna run me approx? I'm leaning towards muffler? Taillights? Or plug wires?

If you're concerned about power/current draw from your electrical system, then install a second battery. I personally run 2 Deka batteries in my DD.
As for cost, it depends on the quality of wire. I personally use all KnuConcpetz wire, as I have found that to be the best bang for the buck. Pricing can run run you anywhere from $40, to $100+.
As for your trip, I would personally go with whatever better suits your needs. If you're wanting your car to look nice to you, get the tails, so on and so forth. No one can tell you what to buy for YOUR car with YOUR money.
Either or, make sure it is an educated decision.

I think that sounds like a good idea and I will make sure I don't buy anything that's a peice of shit lol and another question. Tranny is hurting in my car so I bought a wreck for a parts car it's still drive able and I noticed that it feels a little higher strung in the low gears. Is there any difference in gearing from an 03 sx2.0 to an 04 sx2.0 r/t?

well i suppose you could read the faqs or just searched for info on that. neither a muffler, taillights, or plug wire are gonna help with performance...have you even pulled a spark plug yet? do they even need replaced? to be honest i would see if maybe that $200 could go to the trans before i would do a tune-up with plug wires.

Yup just changed plugs last week old ones were pretty much done, runs alot better with the new plugs. Before I buy wires I'd check out the resistance on my old ones. As for muffler just looking for a louder/ nicer sound than stock r/t minus the resonator. And of course what are. You talking about adding nice tail lights is gonna add like 300 hp and if I put a flame decal on the engine it ll go 500 km/h LOL

You have an 04 r/t parts car? There's a lot different in between the two. I'd swap everything from the rt to the sx. Engine, trans, wire harness, ecu, skim module and everything. You'll get a good boost in power and shorter gears.

Oh I read it wrong and didn't even notice your username lol. The sx will have a 3.55/.72 transmission, where the rt has a 3.94/.81 transmission. The car will be slower with the sx transmission.

Alright.. I've never got a hang on gearing and what not. So it,ll have more get up and go but won't go as fast? Right? Would (if the parts fit) be better off to swap trannys completely or swap out the parts needed. Guessing its the syncro ring. (Grinds into second gear from first or down from 3rd if you are driving semi-hard and up lol)
