New Guy
Hey guys, what's up? My name is John. I just picked up a 2001 Dodge Neon for $400 as a project car, and I've been googleing a lot of different things, and always end up on this site, so, I figured it would make more sense to just join the forum.
The car is a base model (manual windows and locks) 5 spd. with around 155xxx or so on it.
With the exception of the wheels, the car is bone stock. No rust, some damage, but nothing to bad with the exception of a slight pull to the left, dented hood and front driver fender. The interior is clean though.
I've already started piecing together parts for the SRT-4 front end swap, as well as the SRT-4 interior swap.
Plans as of now, are just simple cosmetic upgrades, power door/window swap, and some small bolt on's, (CAI, header, exhaust)
Anyways, I'm hoping to learn a lot from you guys.
-Johnathan.

I live about 3 minutes from Old Shelbyville Road. ha.theColonel wrote:Welcome to the forum ... basically a large disfunctional family ... oriented around an economy car that's been out of production for too long.

As for the car, I promise to take, and post pics tomorrow.
As for the price of the car, I agree. $400.00 was a great price. It runs, and drives like a champion.

welcome!
Another $400 car, sweet! I just scored an 02 ACR with 192,000 for the same nut. Although when you factor in the hundo i spent for the trailer ride home, the title transfer/tax....and the impending clutch repair that was found to be the problem for it not moving???? I guess it ain't no $400 car no more! With a PT Clutch and shifter bushings it needs it technically made it a $809 "running" car. eh
In my eyes, $400 is a good deal for any neon, unless you have to stick your feet through the floorboards and push it manually.
Sounds like we have similiar plans for our second gen's. Good luck.
