First "real" shoot of my '01 R/T...PIC HEAVY!

Post by supertrick_05 » Sun Jul 15, 2012 11:56 am

Yesterday evening I decided to hand wash the car for the first time. It came out alright...lots of scratches and dings, and needs a paint job BAD! So this morning I felt like doing something I haven't done in a very long time...a photoshoot of a Neon...and guess what? I had a friggin blast!!! Here are the results...enjoy!

Looks good. :)

I could've sworn you said you gave the car back though?

He said he was going to buy it back, but changed his mind so he sent me a check for $300 to keep it. As you can probably tell the car hasnt had an easy life, but it will be much better than new when I'm done with it :)

Ah I see. At least the bumper and hood are black also; doesn't make it AS obvious.

Yup, they are both brand new parts that have never been painted.

 Looking good. I like the look and sound of the exhuast, may have to do something like that when I change mine. The 2 chamber flowmaster on my 00 is a little too ricey for me

Haha yeah I know. Too bad it's not. I'm currently on the search for a 1GN DOHC engine to swap my Magnum parts on. The engine currently in the car is pretty tired.

Oooooo...Flowmasters don't sound that good on the 2.0's. I absolutely LOVE the MagnaFlow glasspack! Sounds damn good without being too obnoxious. Cheap too!

Thanks guys! Yeah, instead of painting the pipe black, I might try to spray it aluminum so it doesn't corrode into rust color. The pipe does look pretty cool. I'm not totally sure, but I'd really like to get this thing in paint next year and maybe a "poor man's DOHC 2.0 Magnum" rebuilt engine in sometime this year...possibly. It needs a rebuild bad...

Is your hood tilted?.. if so, do you have a strut tower bar? Been wondering what I can do to keep my washer nozzles from breaking :banghead:

R/T looks good, though!

I'm gonna be the 1st to say I don't like the exhaust. I think it looks out of place and comically large.

I'm sure it sounds good, but I think the fitment is poor.

Can't wait to see what you plan on doing with the car though!

Hey, to each their own, no hard feelings here Chris. What don't you like about the fitment though? I think it looks almost perfect! Right now the big plan is to get a DOHC 2.0 and swap my head and accessories on it. After that, just driving it.

whats the difference in the block? you're looking for a DOHC so you can make it a SOHC... why not just get a reg 2.0 SOHC and throw the mag parts on it?

I was told by a few people that a DOHC 2.0 block/internals with the Magnum parts is a nice and cheap upgrade and bumps the compression for some added power.

Driver side hangs lower than the passenger side.... maybe it's just the pics but it is very noticeable. In person, it might not be.

It is a rather large exhaust, I agree.
