lifter question... yes another one

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

lifter question... yes another one

Post by NGCnoproblem » Sun Jul 15, 2012 9:31 pm

Ok so I've read about this stuff a lot but I've nvr seen confirmed answers. Mine does the 30 second tick at start up but I'm not concerned about that.

My problem is that wen I rev the engine it clatters on deceleration just under 2000 rpm or so. It's done it for a very long time and still drives exactly the same. Is this comin?

lifter problem

I have a 2000 ES that does the same thing. it's done this ever since I bought the car in 2006. Still does it after a cam AND complete rocker arm change. I have listened to it so long it doesn't bother me anymore. By the way, I changed the cam because it was scored, rockers were just common sense to me.
