how to remove a broken antenna ?

previous owner had broken the antenna:

Any ideas on how to remove it? As I want to install an MPx Shorty.

Ouch.

That looks like it was a power antenna. You may have to replace the complete assy. You will need to remove the inner liner to get to it. Nice RHD fender shot.

Did neons have power antennas? I thought they were just "pull up" ones?
Damn, will I have to remove the fender to get at it?

Sorry didn't read everything you wrote there. Remove inner liner, as in jack car up, remove wheel and access from there?

Maybe they were manual pull up, I can't recall. I know the export ones got them. No you shouldn't have to remove the fender.

Scotland is RHD as well? I guess that makes sense being "part" of the UK and all.

If I had paid attention to the picture better, I would have known that too
