I don't get the lemon part... sure early 1gns had bad headgaskets and shitty paint but other than that the neon is a pretty damn stout car with few real issues to speak of. Never really understood why people dislike them so much, but so be it. Fuck their opinion and just enjoy your car

The stigma never went away, car magazines, other media just followed through, and DCX never did anything to disprove the claims. I mean why not put anther nail in a american car company's coffin?
