Forgot how easy it is to change the plugs. Just make sure you've got a long tool.
... here's the old... went probably more than 40k miles...
does it say anything besides a bit worn out?

Looks pretty normal to me.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

I'm guessing greater than 0.060" by a fair margin.

Probably get a decent increase in fuel economy now! I change plugs every other oil change. Car loves it and runs strong that way.

V powers suck on neons. Cheap old champion or autolite plugs for us work the best.

So many neons so little time.

Oh wow!. I did search over a yr ago and was told Ngk V Power coppers are the oem spec and that they are great. They were pretty cheap too. I have put about 13K on them but tempted to change to see if they would at least partly cure my "low idle when stopped in drive" issue.
What's the exact name or part # of the champion copper plug?

It should be on the emissions label under the hood. RY9C or something like that.

yep found the answer here.
http://www.allpar.com/neon/performance.html
Btw that page says:
"SOHC owners, you can add about 8-10hp from changing your muffler to a high-flow unit. Straight-though type mufflers work well for this application. This muffler design produces the best hp and torque numbers. It shouldn't cost more than $120-$140 installed."
Is that true?

I doubt it. I didn't notice any real seat of the pants gain from running an open pipe/GP over the stock muffler. I noticed more of a gain from the 60mm TB.
8 to 10 hp in our cars would be very noticeable.

Copper plugs are great, just don't expect to get 40 to 50,000 out of them at optimal performance. I think I got about 30,000 out of the set I used, and that was re gapping at 20,000.
I got 40,000+ out of a set of Bosch Platinum +4, (I changed them just to change them) and so far I have 20,000 + out of a set of Bosch Iriduim Fusions and they look good, considering I'm using more than a quart of oil per 700 miles. But then they have the "advantage" of low cylinder pressure at this point too.
