aftermarket springs on oem
Can new oem srt4 struts handle eibach sportline springs? And how much drop would I get from swapping these struts and springs on a stock height neon [/b]
Sorry for Party Rockin

they would hold up better than your "used" ones
but eventually they would most likely blow.
*cough buy coilovers cough*

I will eventually but a guy has oem SRT 4 struts that have less the 3000 miles on em and sportlines for 300. He bought his SRT 4 new and put mopar could on so he had his struts in storage all this time lol. It's a good deal till I can buy coils, and I'm pretty sure my struts are shot.
Do srt4 struts perform better anyway?

I see the OP got his answer... Sooooo I have a question of my own without starting a new thread.
I have a set of SRT-4 ACR struts and springs. Since the ACR percehs are the same as a Neon SXT I would look at only a 1/4" drop all around with the SRT-4 springs on my R/T? I am thinking about getting some lowering springs for them, but not sure which ones would be best without the ACR struts blowing. I am thinking about a 1'' drop all around. Nothing too crazy

For the record, SRT springs on stock SXT struts will net you 1/8" or less drop, but a MUCH higher spring rate and firmer ride.
The ACR struts are Tokico Illuminas, so I would imagine they would be okay with a slightly lower spring with a higher rate as they are built for performance. You can get Mopar Stage 1 springs for SRT which nets you about 1" of drop.

Nice... Yeah I heard good things about the Mopar S1 Springs..But since they are setup for a regular SRT strut with the 1'' higher spring perch would I still net the same drop?Canada wrote:For the record, SRT springs on stock SXT struts will net you 1/8" or less drop, but a MUCH higher spring rate and firmer ride.

As for the SRT-4 ACR struts being the same as the Tokico Illuminas that you can order from MPX and elsewhere is a misconception.
Not only is the spring perch height different, but the internal valving AND the construction is different between the OTS SRT-4 Tokico Illumina and the factory SRT-4 ACR spec strut. The price difference is also huge. A set of OTS ones runs about 650-700 a set whereas the factory ones run about 2200 a set, depending on current MSRP and how kind your dealer is. .
