SRT4: $500 a month, BASIC coverage, no collision
$150 * 12 = $1800 extra a year
I'm a male, under 25, living in one of the most expensive areas for insurance.
I'm fucked.

I must respectfully disagree. With an equal bore but shorter stroke, the 2.0 while missing 20% displacement can safely rev more than 20% faster. And it's pretty well known that the rod caps tend to be the first to go from revving. As long as the valve train can keep up, which ours can, the 2.0L is debatably the better platform.Wenuden wrote:I don't think anyone said the 2.0 doesn't have potential, just that the 2.4 has more.
Now at the HP levels that cause things to fail that could never be anticipated or reproduced, the 2.4 is a more stout block at the bed plate, but those failures have only happened a handful of times and could be attributed to a lot more than which motor is better such as tuning, etc.
One advantage I like a lot is that the torque numbers are lower relative to the HP numbers on a 2.0, which breaks a lot less drivetrain parts, all else equal. So you don't need as much clutch, you don't need as much axle, and you don't need as much money to replace those things. The direct inverse however is that single disc clutches don't like to fully release up that high, giving you shifting problems up there unless you go with a smaller diameter twin. And in a 2.0, keeping the turbo spinning by shifting quickly is even more of a concern since you have less displacement to spin it back up after a shift.

OK, I'll tell you what. I'll run you in a month. If I lose or it doesn't work, I tune your cars forever for free. If I win, you build me a trans for free with a 3.94 and every trick in the book.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

Damn right. A trans in his car is worth the risk if I may get free tuning for life! When his is together, I got no chance so I'm banking on it breaking (hope not) or its not done. But I wanna see it done, looked beautiful when I saw it last fall.stdlystdmufn wrote:whats crazy is either we they win!!
