URGENT - Will this exhaust fit on my '02 R/T?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

URGENT - Will this exhaust fit on my '02 R/T?

I apologize for the flashy thread title, just need to know right away if I should act on a deal.

Here is the catback in question the owner said it is off a 1st gen Neon: http://guelph.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeIm ... =386809777

Rear section looks like it will. Mid-pipe idk, is that a flex joint between the over-axle and section off down pipe?

No, it is just a band clamp, with the pipe just far enough out to look like one.

But the down pipe flange is definitely 2gn. (4 bolt flange, not two bolt/doughnut)

It may have had a 2gn style header/manifold tho.

FWIW:
I have a mid length PT OBX header on my 1gn. It uses the same type DP. I had to modify it to fit correctly in a 1gn tho. But a shorty header will probably fit OK.

No dice. The distance between pipes on my R/T is 32 inches, this one was 38.

The whole pipe was around 3 inches, which made me doubt it would bolt up to the cat anyways.

Seller was a nice guy too, he would've let me have it for $80. Too bad it doesn't work.

It would work, but the catless DP would need cut off, then bent, so it could be adapted to your cat.

The tricky part would be the exit elbows. There might be enough to cut out to take away the 6 inches. $80 for a stainless system may be worth the extra you would need to have it made to fit.

But a 3" pipe size would be pushing it for a N/A 2.0, if it is 3"

2.5" would be as big as I would want to go.

I'm positive I could've flipped it for double. Just too much going on with my own cars to have time for that.
It would've been way too difficult to take off 3 inches on each side especially because of where the hangars are. Not to mention stainless steel welding is more expensive.

My PO hacked off the R/T dual piped muffler and threw on a single (and poorly welded) Magnaflow universal fit.
Looks terrible, and pretty much rests on top of the bumper. I need to look for the factory axle-back muffler.

There's a girl in cambridge that has an RT part out, if you haven't already seen it.

She's on NeonCanada, and the SRT4/Neon FS (Canada) FS page on facebook.

edit: here's the fb page http://www.facebook.com/groups/174627355943733/

look for "Hailey King" she's parting out a black RT. She's been trying to get rid of stuff for a LONG time now, so I can't see her asking much..

She's barely legal and worked with horses... I'd buy her whole car for the "right price"....
