chopper/bobber forums?

Post by tniemuth95 » Tue Aug 21, 2012 8:07 pm

Hey guys. I'm looking to start building a custom bobber soon and I'm wondering if there are any glorious forums like this one out there. Not sure what my donor bike would be which is why I'm having trouble finding a good forum. Anyone here who is into that stuff throw me a shout. Would love to see what you've got.

Note: As easy as it would be to get an old cb750 or a yamaha xs650 I really wanna make it a v-twin.

You can put a v-twin in a straight 4 frame, it just involves more backbone/front end work. More custom = more better.

On that note, I'd go with something that's not an old 750 honda, cause you're paying a premium on the frame when you're just gonna destroy it.

Get a custom frame done, it'll be cheaper than chopping an old ass desirable for restoration frame.

good idea but on the other note if I use an existing frame I don't have to worry about getting a title. From what i've heard/read getting a title for a custom frame is a huge PITA.

For a garage built frame, yes. From what I understand, there are many many manufacturers that have "DOT approval" to make frames, for lack of a better term, that can sell you a titlable frame for less than you can get a clean frame modded for. Your local (or a non-local but reputable) chopper shop can guide you in those directions.

choppers can get messy, too much blood.

bobbers on the otherhand, those are great.
