Iceman intake R/T or reg? (pics)

Iceman intake R/T or reg? (pics)

Post by silversport » Thu Aug 23, 2012 6:28 pm

Hey can anyone tell me from the pic if this is an Iceman for a reg 2gen neon or an R/T. I was told it came off of an R/T but I thought the bellows should be angled a bit? is iceman not like that? thanks!

I thought the same thing as you... Where's the bend? I'm not very familiar with icemans though

It looks like a 1GN Iceman that has been modified for use in a 2GN Neon.

it IS a 2gn iceman. the bend is so that the filter winds up parallel to the ground facing toward the front bumper cover.

it may or may not fit the angle of the r/t intake. It looks like its a non-mag angle iceman.

see the wear marks? it was rubbing on the inner fender liner making a horrible racket at 5K+rpm.... You'll need to use some padding to keep the noise down.

so you are saying it is a 2gn iceman but not an R/T one? using the stock bellows would solve this issue?

thanks! O one last question. Does the R/T iceman have a bend in the bellows similar to the AEM? I am assuming you have seen one?

IIRC yes... it has an angled tube. Theres a thread here somewhere about a modern performance sale that i believe has the pics..

if you use that iceman, make a grommet out of split piece of hose where the iceman passes through to the fender.

fwiw i just installed mine last week, its just seems more noisy. probably could get 90% of the same thing by removing the resonator box. I bought it REAL cheap and its a class legal mod so what the hell...
