My New Sony CD/MP3 Stereo Head Unit

Post by 03sxt » Fri Jan 27, 2006 9:31 pm

Wo0ot! My wife bought me a new deck Monday! After shopping around a bit, we opted for the Sony CDX-F7710 AM/FM/CD/MP3 Player - This is the best page I could find with pics and info: http://www.avcarexpo.com/519.html I'm very happy with it and it was well worth the $180 from Best Buy. And NO, they didn't install it for me - I like my car more than that. The sound is amazing and crystal clear, even with the stock speakers with my JL sub.

The forums code included the period at the end of my sentence in the URL. Give it a whirl again. :)

i bought my wife an Xplod MP3 Hu for christmas. its the CDX-S2210. im a die hard Pioneer fan, and normally wouldnt pay money for anything not pioneer, but i got a hell of a deal from Bestbuy. once i installed it and tuned it, i was SHOCKED at how good it sounds, on the stock 99 Plymouth Breeze speakers no less. Sony is now my 2nd choice car stereo manufacturer.

but i still despise Kenwood.

Yeah, I hear occasional horror stories about Xplod stuff, but this deck so far is the best I've owned. I couldn't ever ask for a more clearer sounding deck, especially with the stock speakers (at least for now.)

I used to hear stories like that about xplode too, Still cant believe I went w/ an xplode headunit, but it looked the nicest and did everything I wanted in one, so I figured whatever. Its been pretty nice, I did have to exchange it this past fall (about 6months old then) because the buttons on the face stopped function the way they were supposed to, good thing i had the remote

Im sure yours is fine, it looks like its made nice, so i wouldnt be worried! I think the reason mine messed up is because its one of those w/ the black face, and then it flips open, w/ the buttons inside. they say those dont last as long as the ones that just slide down to let cds in, or have detachable faces

 I've owned Pioneer, Clarion, Kenwood and by far, this is the best sounding deck. It may also have something to do with Dodge's stock speakers being better too, though.

CD? Never again - DVD is much better.
I've got the Sony MEX R1.
It is not perfect yet for all my requirements but with distance the best I found (in this price range)...

I don't need a DVD player to watch while I'm driving. I like to watch the road... It's smarter.
