I need to know how to take the black side molding off of my car. I am fed up with looking at it and it has got to go! Please tell me how to do it and what I need to use to do it. I am going car detailing tomorrow and I want them off when I do it! Please help me out!

you can use a heat gun or a hair dryer, let it heat up and then use a credit card to scrap it off, but be careful, when i went to do mine the paint underneath was bubbled, so needless to say the trim is still on the car for now.

i heard a blow dryer and some fingers/credit card works fine. if its old it might take more time and leave shitty lines under from paint fade and whatnot. good luck. theres a post somewhere about this but its under a diff topic, like debadging or something. hope that helps-

Be extremely careful doing it. I haven't removed mine only because underneath my stripe moulding, the paint has really fine bubbles in it.

Ive heard to use fishing line...when i did mine, i just waited for a really hot summer day and sadly, used my nails and some fishing line  worked very well, and i was one of the lucky ones, no bubbles under any of my side moldings. just take your time and make sure to heat it up some, or do it on a hot day

I did mine by hand on a 80+ degree day later in afternoon after it had heated up all day. Be cautious with fishing line as it can actually cut into ur paint when pulled tight.

I was another lucky one and used my fingernails as well.

I just waited for a really hot day and pulled them right off, the adhesive didn't stick to the molding strip so I had to use some adhesive remover and take it off. Then a good wash/clay bar/wax and she was moldingless and beautiful!

I was going to do it today but I ran out of time and I was kinda scared to do it. I didn't want to be a oddball and get bubbles on the side of my car. But I at least got my car washed, polished, buffed, and waxed. I will considering tackling the molding later.
