I posted this in general discussion only to realize it belonged here after I posted it; sorry guys!
Hello again, quick question for you all....my wife is pretty much against spending any $$ "unnecessarily" on me upgrading the intake and exhaust on my Neon. According to her, it's for daily driving, not racing so I need to leave it stock. *sigh* fine. So my question is, short of trying to find a CAI on a wrecked Neon in a junkyard at some point, would taking off the resonator box in the fender well add any gain in MPG's or in the performance department? If this is a silly question or made a few of you laugh, then that's cool I gave ya a chuckle for the moment, but seriously.....would this help me at all or not?
ANOTHER intake / CAI question

There will be no gain if you remove the resonator and keep the stock air box. Stock is pretty good in the first place. The gain with just an intake is minimal at best. I am sure someone will argue this. Just my 2 cents. A bigger throttle body, then maybe...
Oh and HAHAHAHA! LOL

a CAI is relatively cheap though?
I can understand the exhaust, it'll be a little more expensive. But you should be able to put together a CAI for less than $100 (ebay intake + name brand filter).
