Purple Power - good stuff or waste of $$?
Purple Power - good stuff or waste of $$?
I wanted to try purple power as a bay and engine cleaner but read it says to not use on aluminum and painted surfaces and it's also corrosive.......so it's NOT such a hot idea to use this stuff to clean up the bay then correct? I know, I know....DUMB question huh! Still, a question none the less. Opinions???
purple power
good idea or not, I use purple power in my engine bay. I have not experienced any problem with it. Just protect your paint with something when you spray it and wash it off. Near the top of the engine don't go in there with the water at full bore and when you use it, get a dedicated spray bottle and mix it half purple power and half water. It works well. I have old towels that I only use when working on the car. I fold them and cover the paint and the plasic grill and cowl. be sure to remove the towels when you are finished. As an extra measure I rinse it down and shammy it off.

Yes - DON'T get it on unpainted alumimum, because it will turn it Dark..... almost black.TomsNeon wrote:I wanted to try purple power as a bay and engine cleaner but read it says to not use on aluminum and painted surfaces and it's also corrosive.......so it's NOT such a hot idea to use this stuff to clean up the bay then correct?
