If only I was local.. coilovers are easy!

I tackled my fronts on my own, and had company for the rears, just to have someone to bitch and complain to

the day I did the rears:

It took me about 6 hours to do coilovers on my own, with an axle replacement thrown in there too. Would of been a hell of a lot easier with someone else there.

took me 30 minutes a corner, jacking each corner separately. One of the rears were a little tricky, but otherwise much easier than OEM style struts.

adjusting them on the other hand.. between jacking up, adjusting, driving, adjusting, adjusting, adjusting, I spent about 4/5 hours in the front and 2 hours or so in the rear.

 Why are you driving around between adjustments? It takes me 30 minutes total to adjust all four corners.

Measure, jack up, adjust, drop, done.

Just measure the height you have now, fender lip to hub center, and once you have the coilovers on just measure the difference and adjust accordingly; It's a straight conversion (1" on the tape measure is 1" on the coilover). The only time it's not a straight conversion is when your height is dependent on spring preload, which yours aren't.

FAARRR from loaded, that's for sure.

When I got them they were raised to almost stock height. first time I left them that height just to test them, and I had to quickly drive somewhere. Then I slammed the front, drove around to let the coils settle, and found out about the pinch welds in the fender and then raised, and lowered about 0.25" each time to find the perfect height. THEN took care of the pinch welds.

Wanted to see how low I could go and how it would drive at each level.

How many 2gners does it take to lower a neon?

Answer: 3

One to sit there, one to explain how to do it and eventually do it their self, and one to take the picture
