Ya, definitely noticed a change in the power band. I'll have to check that sometime in the future... When I feel like taking everything apart again.

And the sensor was purchased from Advance Auto... Are they both the same "quality"? Where should I get that sensor from?

And another note... It's randomly going into limp mode while I'm driving, when the MIL is already on. I had to shut the car off while on the interstate and crank it back up (like, while driving) and it gets rid of limp mode... It's been the most aggravating thing ever. This effin 0335 code :banghead:

Yeah my SRT went into limp mode hard while I was driving twice, once for a cam sensor, once with an oil pressure switch.

Whooops.... Sorry, I missed that.

Regardless, I would not be surprised if Advanced and AutoZone both 'source' some sensors, from the same suppliers.

I should mention that I am currently running a cam sensor from AutoStoned in my '98 MTX, for the last several years, with no issues.
The crank sensor, is OEM Chrysler (replaced by them, when I first bought the car.)

I bought a crank sensor from advanced that went out in about 8 months. The replacement one lasted up until now in my NYG.

Any outward visual signs on when a crank sensor goes bad?

like the cam sensor, oil can push through it when it fails. also when you go to remove the sensor, sometimes the metal housing separates from the rest of the sensor, other times, nothing can be seen at all.

Alright, well I installed an Autozone crankshaft positioning sensor today so we'll see how well that lasts. Cleared the code through our inspection computer, and let it idle for a little while (while I messed with my passenger side HID wiring... *sigh* lol). Everything seems well so far. No odd, sudden sputters or abnormal idling.

I'll find out on the way home if it decides to give me issues.

They need to hurry up and get the SRT-4 Dart because this thing is getting traded in for one of those

Just an update... Seems like my crank sensor took a crap the same time I did my timing belt. Hasn't had any moments of sputtering, lights still off, running alright (minus the powerband shift... It definitely sounds different too).

So I guess that was all that was wrong... thank for all the help and input anyway, fellas. Truly appreciate this forum, and all the stupid questions I can ask

I could, I suppose. All depends on my credit in another year and if I don't need a trade in to help.

On another note: my driver's side D2S bulb burnt out. If its not one thing, it's another. Wonder what's gonna happen next...

So. Note to self, since I had never done something so major to my car before: there are TDC marks on the camshaft gear AND the crank sprocket. My timing is definitely off enough to notice a loss in power. Exhaust has a more suttle sound, which I like better, but the car doesn't pull like it should (for a 130 hp car... I know, all stock).

Gonna set aside a day this week to probably pull things apart again and set the timing correctly. At least I know what I'll be doing this time.
