Sleep tight...
Thanks for another great year. I'll see you in April, maybe March if it's really nice out. Sweet dreams.

I can actually just go back and forth with it and get it pretty close, then I put a floor jack under the rear axle, bring it up so the rear tires are barely off the floor, and just give it a nudge into place. It's worked great for the past 4 winters. My garage is 19' wide by 30' deep. With the car stored sideways like that, I can still fit my Neon, my wife's car, all my tools, my snowblower, etc. and not trip over everything.

It was in the driveway, just to the left of that picture. At this very moment, it's in the garage with the Daytona.MyNeonSaysHi wrote:No neon found....

Yup, 89. The Pumpers and the transmission are off of the same Shelby that I found in the junkyard. Mine's only an ES Turbo (well, at least it started life that way). I sincerely miss the days where you could actually find parts for these. When scrap prices went crazy in 2008 or so, every single one of these disappeared from the yards.trojmn wrote:sniff makes me miss my old rattle trap Shelby VNT and you even have pumpers.
what year is that? 89?
Luckily, with the 2.4L in it, I can still find plenty of engine parts

I've always loved the Daytona Shelby, especially the 1989. However, if I started with a Shelby, I definitely would have been much more afraid to do the things I've done to this car. I likely would have had more of a restoration attitude rather than classic cheap speed.chew* wrote:I was in love with a shelby edition same color right next door to me, wish I had bought it.
I just love to drive this thing. I put plates on it June 2008 and I've put nearly 30,000 miles on it since then. 5 years in a row, I've driven it to Carlisle and back. I won't lie, I do wish I had air conditioning this past year, but it was still fun as always.

I think I know where a couple are still if you need any parts.jonnymopar wrote:I've always loved the Daytona Shelby, especially the 1989. But don't street race..!!??If the parts car is cleaner rust wise than your car, swap the inner dash panels (VIN) and use the parts car with your title.
