Forget putting the battery in the back lol
Don't worry its not just floating there
This knot was just to keep the extra from hanging down
Cables ran
I think the wires look pretty clean myself
Thanks for the idea Eric

Interesting location! Gotta keep those wheels planted. More weight in the front is good on any high power FWD car. Race car indeed, I like it!

Autostoned sells a universal battery tiedown metal bracket... Please for the safety or yourself and others, spend the $10 and install it.

I want someone to explain to my how a tow strap tie down used to hold down much heavier items, can't hold a light battery. Ill eventually get a different strap but honestly I'm not worried about it

It will work fine for short term, but once battery acid and the elements start working on it, your battery might become an ineffective wheel chock.
I would invest in a metal battery relocation tray in the near future.

The one thing I've come to learn with tow straps and tie downs over the years is they are smooth and vibrations from driving, hitting bumps, etc etc could cause the battery to move up and come off that lil piece of angle iron and drop down on to the road. I realize you wanna get on the road and all but what would a simple small piece of angle iron placed on the front upper edge of the battery with some J bolts take to install? Very little time. Another thing that bothers me is the battery has no tray under it. All it would take is a piece of road debris, car debris, etc etc to come up and strike that battery and cause it to come out or even worse puncture the battery causing acid to spill out. I would just contact Never Dead Racing on neons.org and get one of his trays for $55. Simple clean install!

Well it won't b there for years lol. And I could understand a puncture, maybe. But if somethin like that makes it up the i would worry it would puncture much worse things. Also the battery can't lift cus the the lip on the bottom is pinned under the bolts. Kind of like how its secured originally. And the angle iron is like 2 inches wide. It aint moving that far to fall off.
I guess time will tell haha

hmm. I really think id rather a light weight battery over this mod. It just doesnt' look clean or safe even if its bringing weight to a lower center of gravity. I know its more than my 2 cents but id got with the odesssy or one of those new lithuim (5lb) batteries over this.

that is going to suck when you have a dead battery, or need to jump someone, and need to pull the front bumper

There's a way to cure that problem. A person could easily go to a junkyard and pick up LH body jumper points. They would be on any LH, Intrepid, 300, Concorde. Or a person could make their own. Even cloud cars should have them as their battery was in the fender too.

Put the ground on the frame somewhere and the power on the fuse box bolt, done.

So many neons so little time.

What I want to know is, what gauge cables are you using? They look awfully puny.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

^^ that's wat I did. Also I still have the original clamps up top that I wrapped with tape. Just untape em and hook up jumpers. Easy
Dante- its 8 gauge which is wat my oem cables are. I only extended the wires about a foot or foot and a half
