Magnum cam/header on non-Mag questions
Ok remember my feeler thread about the mag cam and header? Yea.... the local chick is buying em, and my question is, will the header bolt right up? It's an 02 Automatic Neon SXT. I'm assuming the cam will be the same b/c everyone replaces them. (does she need the mag springs also?? I'm replacing mine with Cranes anyways) I just want to make ABSOLUTELY sure before I sell them to her, I would feel horrible if they didn't work. Thanks in advance

Mag springs for mag cam. Yes. From what i understand, bolt right up but might want to replace belts and gaskets while your at it.

Like timing belt or alternator belt? lol The car has 34k so no timing belt yet.... gaskets for the header? Do I need to pick a new one up from Autozone orrrr can I re-use the old one? (I have no idea I haven't pulled mine off yet!!)nodestiny wrote:Mag springs for mag cam. Yes. From what i understand, bolt right up but might want to replace belts and gaskets while your at it.

did you mean a Magnum head or the header... they should both bolt right up. Apparently the header needs to have an O2 bung welded in it for the upstream sensor. I will be installing mine in the next few weeks (still unpacking boxes from teh move)

The magnum header needs to have an O2 bung welded in for the upstream O2 sensor. The magnums have the upstream O2 sensor on cat pipe just ahead of the cat so there is no O2 bung on the mag header. The other option is to get the magnum cat to go with the header and then just bolt that right up.
I have to get an O2 bung welded in mine...local muffler shop said $40 to do it, which sounded high so I am going to shop around a little.
I would just buy new gaskets when installing it...
