I have the Livin Loud sub/amp set I took as payment for upgrading a friends car. The amp puts out 100w at 1ohm, matched to a 1 ohm sub. I'll bet the 8" Bazooka sounds way better.

That came w/the special edition package on my '05 SXT. It sounds pretty good to me, but I'm no audiophile.

Yep, stock Kicker kinda sucks, but it's better than what comes in the car if you don't get it. I upgraded mine with a Memphis M-Class sub and I'm pushing it with an Alpine MRD-M301 amp, sounds a lot better.

I'm going to put that stuff into my wife's '05 SXT and put in 2 10" Alpine Type-R's and push them with an Alpine MRD-M601 amp this summer.

I just got the LL sub/amp(used). The amp was shot so I replaced it with a Kicker IX402 amp. The speaker has a bit of bump to it. But it is a cheap-o speaker so that will get replaced in the not too distant future.

The stock headunit in the SRT-4 is different as well when equipped with the Livin' Loud system. Someone had one on the .Org for like $250 shipped. Headunit-Sub-Amp, wiring and all a good while back. Right thing, wrong time for me.

I have not heard one IRL yet, but from what i understand, it is pretty decent for what it is. No, it is not huge thumping crazy, but it is better than nothing, right?

Right now, I think my money is better spent on a good headunit (see my post) and a decent set of speakers the whole way around. Even on deck power (17-19 watts RMS) that is gonna sound at least 10 times better than stock. And as long it can make the Beasties, Kanye West and the occasional Metallica, Helmet and whatever else is laying around sound good, I am cool with it for a while.

So, wait, you can change the sub that comes in the kicker/livin loud kit, and use your own amp?

If so, i might have to hit my friend up for his. :)

I don't see why you couldn't, although I don't know much about this system.

Q-Logic has a neat 10" sub box that hides in the spare tire well. Or you can make your own space saving sub box.

I looked at the JL audio site and used there stealth box picture to build one for my friends 96 Z-28 Camaro once. Wish I had pictures, it came out great. All you have to do is figure out how much space your chosen subwoofer needs. Build a "pattern" mock up box out of cardboard, fitting where and how you want it. May take a few attempts. Number or mark the pieces of carboard. Then use those pieces to build a frame of the box size you need out of MDF, particle board or wood. Then use Fiberglass matte and resin, in several layers.

I haven't done this for my neon yet, maybe when I get back to the states I will. For now I'm just using a 12" infinity tube I picked up used for $60. I blew the sub so I put a JVC "warren G" 12" in it, and a 1 channel Crunch amp. My car needs Dynomat pretty bad.

:-k 1600 watts? 1200 watts? How did you get that for only a $1,000. And why? Whats wrong with a couple hundred watts of high quality bass, thats all I got and my one 12" sub painfully rattles the shit out of my 2005 neon. Or is it just extra cool to have 5,000 hp, 50 lbs of boost, 29 " spinners, and a 30 inch dick. I thought most audio companies where done with exaggerating the power of there products, but I guess not.

Well... it only cost me $1000 because i bought pieces off ebay, and other online stores... I got both my subs for a total of $129 from Circuit City because i bought them with an online only special then did In-Store Pickup  The Amps I bought from an online audio store... i forgot the name, the speakers and headunit i bought off ebay...

why all the power? Well... I dunno... seemed like a good idea at the time? I dont regret it tho, the system has very good response and range, but its still not as bad as the guy i saw onetime that had a civic hatchback with a wall behind his seat that had TWO 15" and TWO 18" subs mounted to it... keep in mind, those were right behind his head
