Oil in spark plug tube

Post by Sxteve » Sun Apr 28, 2013 11:31 am

I am in the process of replacing my valve cover gasket. I bought 2 new spark plug tubes. before I install them, should I take the spark plug out and clean in the oil out that is sitting on the spark plug?
Thanks for the help.

I found my answer. In case anyone searches this in the future, I pulled the spark plug and used a paper towel to dry up the oil. cleaned the spark plug and tube with engine degreaser. then re-installed them. I use a block of wood and a hammer to put the spark plug tube back in.
