Stock Bellows tube on a magnum

Post by Sparky828 » Sat Feb 04, 2006 6:02 pm

hey i was wondering if you could put a stock neon bellows tube on a magnum neon? or even the other way around why or why not... the stock one bends so i dont see why not...

it needs that bend to align with the stock intake correctly... they use the same airbox for all of the neons... all they do is change some tubing and t/b (srt included) locations and you have "parts sharing".... thats how they cut costs... use 99% identical parts with a few differences here and there

long story short, the non-mag pipe wont work because of the entry angle into the stock airbox. the magnum intake extends down lower than the plastic reg neon intake so it needs a diff bellows tube

I don't think that's what he meant. He meant putting a STOCK bellows tube...the flexible kind, on a magnum motor. Which is kind of a silly question, because stock, they are the same exact piece, non-mag and mag. Maybe that's all Sparky was wondering.

I believe so. I've looked under the hood of a stock R/T before, and I remember seeing the same flexible, baffled tube that I had in my stock ES. Even if for some strange reason, they are slightly different, I AM positive that the non-mag flexible bellows tube is indeed flexible enough to work with the magnum intake manifold's different entry angle.

The stock bellows tubes are differant, BUT the stock base motor will work with a bit of working it. I got the base motor CAI piping to work on the mag setup ;) Just wasnt very pretty and it flexed like crazy! Stomping on it would smash the TB into the top of the hood! Nasty sound, but worked.

How so? Length or diameter? I'm interested to know, because I very rarely get a look-see under a completely stock R/T's hood. I've seen stock base model's a million times. And I thought they were the same. Any body have pictures of a stock R/T or ACR bellows tube?

I can get a pic for you. The only differance is a slight bend in the end... a pic will show best! hopefully get this to you tomorow.
