So as I sit here at work wishing I was fixing my car ...

I am stuck working on a wrx ...

I have to fix the rear bumper, trunk, and spoiler ...

While the mechanic has to change the engine that was supposedly blown when someone hit the back of his car while parked in the driveway ...

So I have an update on this ... lol

apparently this is the guys 3rd engine on an 05 wrx. As I said ... it was hit in the back and the owner told us it needed a new engine.

So ... it was $3700 for the engine ... they took it out ... somewhat ... lol. they had to pry the motor away from the tranny to unbolt the clutch because it was stuck to the input shaft. Once the got the motor out and switched a few things over to the next motor ... they had to figure out the clutch issue. Come to find out ... apparently ... the bump in the back must have forced the tires to move ... and so forth up to the tranny and messed up the clutch. So they had to get a clutch from the local parts store (CAP here) ... which was $500 ... lol. Now the new clutch is in ... and they are wondering if that was the issue the whole time. But since the owner said it was the motor ... its all getting replaced ... so its gonna cost $4300 ... plus installation.

The third engine in a 2005? Hmmm, the owner might have been the first clue.
