Is a fuel controller needed with crane 14?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

yes youll need something along the lines of a safc so youre not running to rich at idle. you can tune a little more out of the engine as-is but the safc is mainly to cut the fuel ~20% at idle as its too rich. the larger cam makes the engine think as though its under loud and so its adding to much fuel and over-compensating

if you dont tune the fuel your car will sound like this (towards the end of the film)

That is my competiton car a long time ago (before it was a comp car), it only had a CAI, direct exhaust & the 14 Cam.
