I am currently running stock struts with '97 ACR springs which have about 140k on them now. One strut is blown...boy do I need these!
Is there any feedback on these Tokico's yet?
I am getting mine tomorrow I will post alot of pictures!
I cannot wait to get my car lowered!

Right on. Yeah, I think I'll order them soon. I have a 'Bel Air that needs a PowerGlide installed first...once that is running, then I can tear into the Neon and take my time. I have some GoldLine camber kits to install and Urethane bushings all the way around as well. Keep us posted on how difficult the job was or if there are any complications of any kind.
Good luck!

Just got them so I snapped some pictures before I had to go to school.
It says to cut the bumpstops. Is that really necessary? Also, how do I know which strut/spring goes where? All the springs are the same height/ #coils.

No instructions telling me. I will probably give Tokico a call and find out about the numbers. I am just psyched on my new tax return setup. Hopefully everything falls into place and I get these babies installed soon! I am gonna start getting all my tools together.
Thanks EsXt02 for the great find!

You should cut the bumpstops in half, and reuse the solid half of the bumpstop.
This is necessary because once you drop your car, the distance between the bumpstop and the strut housing is shortened.
So bacially if you didn't cut them, you'd be riding on your bumpstops(lots of banging), depending on the road conditions and the amount of drop you have.
The springs should have the spring rate printed on them. The two with the higer spring rates, go on the front.
As for the struts, Fronts: HB3210. Rears: HB2233

I noticed all 4 are the same spring rate. 2 have an "F" and the other 2 have a "R" So I am guessing the ones with the "F" are for the front and the "R" are for the Rear?
Also the ones with the "R" are tightly coiled. Whereas the ones with the "F" are not that tightly coiled. Just wanted to make sure.
Thanks guys.

Yes, that seems right. IIRC, that's how my Stage 1 springs were.

Alright cool beans!
Any hints on how to make the strut/coil removal/install any easier or any "watchout for this" from the DIY's.

Be very cautious when taking off the stocks springs....If you release the compressor to quick you could hurt yourself....and never face them up....If they pop off while you are lookin down they will knock you head off....

your replacing the entire strut assembly... so take it all out in one piece. don't bother seperating the spring from the strut. it should be a fairly easy install

You still have to take the hat off and the bearing and all that unless he spent another 200.00 on all the top mounting stuff the it will still be utilized and he will have to get a spring compressor to unbolt and take the top assymbly off

I found a ghetto diy on neoncanada.com and this dude didn't even use a spring compressor for the rear struts! He jsut put a jack under the w/e its called and it pushed the spring up compressing it.

But I rented a nice service manual at the library and also have a Chilton. Did you guys torque everything to spec? Yeah I am gonna watch out when I am compressing that spring. Plus I am doing it a friends house who has lowered his Scion Tc. wo he knows whats up.

Just be cautious and meticulous. Its your baby, treat it right and do the job right. Use lock-tite, use a torque wrench, use a chilton's guide and spring compressors. You'll be more satisfied with the install and have more faith in your abilities when you are done.

Got my Tokico's in yesterday! It'll be a couple weeks until I'm able to get them in, but I'll try and get some pics up when I'm done.
ALSO*** I'll post this in another thread too, but I just bought a used rear disc conversion off of the same year neon. The car they came off of had 124k miles, so I was going to replace the bearings and seals in the hub for good measure...turns out apparently they only sell the HUB ASSEMBLY with everything all ready in there. Did I waste my money on buying these hubs?
Should I just install the used ones anyway and see how long they go?
