Turn Signal Light

Post by ***joker*** » Fri Oct 11, 2013 10:34 am

Hey guys, need some help trying to figure out the problem with my turn signal light. My front passenger turn light does not work. I've checked the bulb and switched it with the drivers side bulb and still no luck. If I disconnect the rear passenger bulb, the dash panel arrow clicks normally but still no turn light at the front. I got a test light and there is no power in the wire going to the flasher bulb. Anyone know where to go from here?

Did you look in the socket? A lot of times, the terminals in the socket corrodes, and that creates problems. If it is just a little bit, you might be able to clean the socket out and get it working properly. But, if it is really bad, you're better off replacing the socket. When replacing a bulb in an exterior light, put some dielectric grease in the socket, it will help to keep the corrosion to a minimum, and help the bulb last longer.

I swapped the socket from the drivers side and it still didn't work, the socket is good. There is no power coming from the plug that connects to the socket, I checked it with a test light. Could the wire have shorted out coming out of the mfs plug?

It would be a logical idea, to check the mfs connector, considering how Chrysler screwed up the design of the lighting system.
