poor ideling engine running better in the cold

It's been snowing here in Michigan and with these low temps it seems the car has been running better...as far as idling. Could this point to what may be wrong with the car? I was thinking about doing a re-flash, but with this change could there be something else I'm missing.

Is your iat sensor plugged in and actually in the intake? Bout the only thing I can think of that would change with temp

If you have the original intake, it is in the elbow that goes from the fender to the air box. If it is strapped to something in that general area, it is pretty much the same as being in the elbow.

If the thermostat is not totally sealing, the engine may be running a little cooler also. The ECT would then allow for the engine to run a little richer.

The cooler denser air may be allowing more through the IAC too.

You know I think you guys are on to something. I looked up the symptoms of a bat IAT sensor and they all fit this cars problem, hard cold start ups, EVAP issues, running rich. I will check into it this weekend, and thanks a bunch guys.

Also Mr. Oneworld, you mentioned about the t-stat not sealing properly and the engine running a little cooler. The temp gauge reads below half (the first mark above the two marks in the cold range) (assuming that half is the running temp for what the gauge is supposed to read) I'll check that too
