ebay cold air intake

Did you buy a part and think it was awesome, or did you think it was a piece of crap? Let everyone know here so we know not to buy the same product.

Well, i got mine yesterday, haven't installed it yet, but...

I'm not impressed with the pipes, they look like, feel like, and even sound like, they're made out of vaccum cleaner pipe. The ends of the pipe are rough, they weren't cut with anything other than maybe a grinder or a chop-saw. The filter looks ok, but a bit small, and the clamps and couplers look good.

All in all, i probably could have made my own, for about the same price, minus the filter. It might not have looked as clean, but at least it would have been made with nice, aluminumized piping, and painted black to match the car.

I guess its true, you get what you pay for?

I got an ebay CAI, and it's pretty sweet. It's black, I donno if it was painted or powdercoated, but it works how any CAI should, feels great, sounds great above 4K. The only thing is that I want to change the filter for an extreme K&N filter, but for now, its fine, just make sure its pushed on well, the filters do fall off!

Another thing, if you keep all the connections super tight on all of the fittings, you wont get foghorn noise as bad. I don't get it at all, and it rests on my fenderwell!

EDIT: One more thing, the sensors don't fit in, I just put duct tape over the hole teporarily, you can probably get a rubber gromet for it, but as of right now, I don't think it makes a difference.

I bought one from them too. After 2 months of emails, they finally sent me what was supposed to be the missing parts but I never got all of mine. I'm pissed.

yea i was missing 2 couplets with mine, but i just went and bought a 2 1/2 in piece of radiator hose, and cut it and made them the couplets, works all the same lol...and the material is light as mess, i know in total weight reduction i lost prob 10 pounds from removing all of the old air induction and putting the CAI on.... so i wasnt to mad about it, and i can def feel a difference in it...

i thought about going the ebay route... but saved up and bought a used AEM from a fellow board member. I hear the ebay clamps come loose under the engine vibratiosn after awhile, the weld on the battery brace break, and that the IAC hole is too big. Again, thats just from what ive heard. I can recommend the AEM tho  i love mine!

Mine's still broken. But I have some JB Weld ready to solve that problem when I attack it. :D
