Turbo pictures!

Post by Kevin_GP » Thu Feb 09, 2006 4:15 pm

My engine is really dirty but I dont see a point in cleaning it. Function>Form. Also my vacuum lines are a mess right now, I will fix it when I find out where everything will end up.

Nicely done! Like you said, it's a bit messy, but if it runs, then that's what really matters. 8) Did you just make your custom hotside and coldside pipes from aluminum? Can a hotside pipe even be made of aluminum? My brother is going to be doing pretty much the same setup, with but with slightly different fuel setup, and a head shim. Also, what again is "Missing Link"? A MAP clamp? Something like that?

Well, I used part of the hotside pipe from a stock srt-4. It fits like crap and would not suggest you use it. I bought an aluminum 90 degree bend and had to do some hammering to get it to fit right. A plan 90 wont make the bend past the power steering pump (i think thats what was in the way). The cold side pipe is also aluminum and I had the muffler shop bend me up one. Now the problem with the cold side pipe is that you cannot make the bend in the stock TB location. I bought a sillicone 90 and cut it down to make it fit. I will fix the cluttered engine by moving the battery to the trunk, my next task.

Well I know I have a code for not having a cat, and another for my underdrive pulley. Not sure about the other ones.

Pics look nice, man! I'll only be able to hear the blow off under the hood of my car in distant dreams while I sleep. :(

Between 2000 and 2500, im not sure the exact amount. There are alot of things I could have skimped on to save cost but I dont think its worth it to cut corners. If you do turbo you will have enough problems as it is, theres no point in buying cheap stuff to make it worst. I know alot of people say it but all the cost is in the little things.

Heh, barely, the intake is going to come off till I move my heater hoses, my car sounds like a snake now
