has anyone had any good results running a comp 400 in a regular sohc engine. i cant find 200's anywhere so i might just go for a 400. problem is that i hvae the low rev limiter, and im going turbo and i heard the 200 is far better for that. would it be worth my money and time to get? if i install a cam gear with it and do a little tuning could i get the powerband down enough to make decent power till redline? any word on how it would react with the turbo setup? thanks for any info.
o and would some mag valve springs be enough to handle the cam? thanks.

I've got a 400 for sale. PM me with your zipcode if you are interested. I bought it and realized that the rev range was too low... I bought an AF/X-R computer, so I no longer need it. Bump for your thread, I'll let the more experienced people answer your questions, I don't want to lead you in the wrong direction.

comp 400 cam
A Comp #400 would be better for a torqy, quick power building street cam. A Crane #12 would be best for a turbo. As for valve springs, with the #400. I run it with mag springs that were already installed into the non mag head, previous owner had some mods already done.I also run a ported cylinder head, which Comp recommends, that or R/T. but you can use stock springs from what Comp/Zex claim. Crane you would definately need springs, Crane recommends them. If, you want a really high rpm range, a Crane #14 would be good... It's not a very nice idle on street. The 400 isn't either, but its ran at an advance from Comp Cams. So, it breathes easier at idle, cuz the valves open and close quicker.
