Timing belt

Post by silentneon01 » Wed Feb 22, 2006 9:39 am

Going to be changing the timing belt and water pump on my 01 in the next couple of months and was wondering who makes good ones for our cars.

^what he said. 8) An OEM belt is about $85, but Modern sells an aftermarket belt for only $39. It's a good belt, I'm using one on my car. As far as the pump goes, it'll be over $100 for an OEM pump from your dealer, and it's about $75 for an OEM pump from on online dealer. I never looked into any aftermarket pumps, because I wanted an OEM quality one.

I bought Gates as well when I did mine.

Have run a few goodyear timing belts in the past, was not impressed at all with the quality or the lifespan. Between my own automotive experiances and my industrial/OEM experience at work I run with Gates whenever I can. May be a bit more money, but it's a much better belt.
