I installed the pcv with a catch can system, installed a new valve cover gasket, new spark plug gaskets and new grommets for the valve cover. I started her up and the breather on teh back of the valve cover was still shooting out the fine mist of oil. At the suggestion of Turbo2001RT i did a compression test and got readings of 105/115/110/165psi, what the heck is causing such a high rating in the 4th cylinder?
THe little book that came with the tester said it was most likely due to a carbon buildup, but Turbo2001RT thinks it's probably a stuck valve.
Does anyone have anymore advice, or ideas, or perhaps actually knows the answer to my dilemma?
Thanks!! Oh, and it should be noted this is for a 2001 Neon.
AND: OH! i forgot to mention, when i took the valve cover off i noticed something hard near one of hte springs, it appeared to be something like carbon, as it was black and a small piece broke off and the main piece appeared to be black all the way through. This piece was sitting near the lower (front of the car) right of the head.
