ok the 10mm holds the shaft still, or rotates it in the opposite direction of the other socket, which is holding onto the nut that your trying to take off. if you just try and turn the nut, the shaft will move with it and basically your just spinning. so if you turn the ratchet one way and the wrench the other you will be spinning the shaft, and loosening the nut.

nothing I had planned for the car this weekend came in, So as long as I get my headliner done tomorrow, Ill be happy enough I guess.

that is SUPER GAY!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what there problem is....When I ordered mine they kinda jerked me around a bit to.....They sent me a confirmation that my package had been sent but when I went to ups.com and plugged in the tracking # all it said was electronic transfer of Info so I called Ray directly and had a word with him. I asked him why it said that and he said because the truck hadnt come to pick it up yet....

My sister in law works for ups....."that is bullshit. they schedule when they want the truck to come and pick the stuff up"...

So I called ray back and said I was tired of being bullshitted and I paid them money I want my product. I understand if they are on back order but if the parts are just sitting there on the shop floor I am gonna be pissed. I got them 3 days later
I put in my order last thursday, over a week ago. They tried to procces my card last monday, but I didnt know I had a liimit, so I had it upped for tuesday, so they could charge my card for that one day.

I couldnt get anyone to answer the phone until late thursday. according to them then, They had processed the card wednesday (when it could only be charged on tuesday) and that IPP had to drop ship them on thursday afternoon, and then they would get me a tracking number.

still no tracking number, just an email that they have shipped FINALLY.

so now its gonna be a rush getting them on the car by the 25th...I high doubt ill ever buy from them again, nor reccomend it.

I am sorry that had happened to you. I myself have come to the conclusion that MP is the only absolutely great company when it comes to customer service........They just dont sell Ipp anymore. They told me that there were to many customer complaints about them and they just stopped selling them. Not that they stopped selling Ipp products just the coilovers. I think that most of the people that were buying them didnt understand that they are really track coilovers and not really for super cumfy ride. If you want to have a super street car so to speak you have to give up some of that ride cuality for durability in my opinion

That sucks about the Firestone thing, I would raise hell too. Bitches.

I started my first strut/spring installation today. Started with the back. Taking it out was pretty simple. I compressed the spring perfectly and safetly. Then I ran into my first problem. I could not get that 13/16th bolt off! I tried to use that set up mentioned in the Chilton but it just didn't work. So I ended up going to the local tire place and he charged me $20 to get that bolt off with an impact wrench and he but the bumpstops/jouncers, dust boot etc on my new ones. I go home and try to put them in...The damn thing didn't want to go in the 3 holes at top. I checked it out and found out that there is a left and right upper mount. Durrrrr. So my car is sitting on jackstands and he is going to switch em back around tomorrow for free. Its was my fault for not marking them. Begginer mistakes. I am just excited cause I am getting one step closer to getting my car lowered!

Ran into more problems with my eBay Tokicos....

I am doing the drivers rear and it just doesn't allign right, I tried everything. I eventually had one bolt in but the other hole didn't allign. I am so pissed right now. The strut is totally fine, i put the top 3 mounting bolts and it allgned perfect. But the clevis bracket is crooked, maybe its the fact that I left my car on jackstands all night? I tried put the jack under it to move it right and I didn't get anywhere.

did you try placing the jack with a block under the drum and jack it up. then place a pry bar/srewdriver through the strut and into the clevis bracket hole and pry it inward. Start the bolt on the opposite side of the prybar/screwdriver. once you get it in far enought to stop the braket from coming out knock it with a soft hammer the rest of the way in.

At least that is how I had to do both sides on the rear. Also remember that the top plate I believe are different. Post back if that does not work.

we put a piece of wood under the strut and used a jack to raise (compress) the strut, then some prying and pulling to get it to align to slide the bolts in.

Right after I posted I went down stairs and did my other strut. Went in with alot of fiddling around with the clevis bracket and jacking up the strut and alot of bangin with the hammer. But I got it! So I moved on to the shitty one, and I used a piece of wood so the wood was jacking up the knuckle and the jack was jacking up the strut and it worked out! I am so happy you would not believe! My car is so low in the back now!!! High in the front still. Thanks for the tips anyways. I been told the front is a lot easier than the back..Is this true?

I am always needy.

^^ yeah but you suggested jacking up the drum, which is already higher then the strut, you need to jack the strut up (compress it) to raise it up

^^ahhh but you see I guess I did not explain myself that well, but he did that hard side like the way I was trying to say. ;)

Doesn't look like they changed the mounting holes either. So you will either need crash bolts or have the place drill out the bottom hole for your allignment.

The mounting holes on the clevis bracket? Well everything is the same, it looks like. I put all the hardware that was on the old ones back on and it fit snugly....Crash bolts, drill the bottom hole? I looked at my old rear ones and they are Tokico! I guess Mopar used Tokico for stock struts.
Heres a pict of the rear with my 14'' steelies.
Image
I am going to have to drive to the auto place, cause I am gonna have them put on my front ones. Will it be okay to drive with stock setup up front and my new rear ones on the highway? I am going to take back roads and go slow I think. I would put the front ones myself but I ran out of time and I need my car tomorrow, plus I don't want to deal with struts anymore. PITA without airtools or proper jacks.

The fronts are easier then the rears. Just do it your self, and save your money.

Thats what I have been told by a numerous amount of other people.... Its gonna cost me $120 for the front 2 then allignment is like $70 for all 4. So total of $190. My mom doesn't want me to get hurt so she is giving me a $100 towards having someone else do it. (birthday present) So I was like what the hell. $90 isn't too bad. Plus they will torque everything to spec....hopefully. I am gonna watch em/help them out. So it might be cheaper. Thanks for all the help you guys! I will post picts with my 17's on.
