SRT Struts and wider tires

Post by Knoxville_R/T » Tue Mar 07, 2006 9:09 pm

If I go with the srt struts, will I be able to run the 225/50/16 tire like the srt acr can? Or will I have to stick with a 225/45/16? OH yeah, I have 16X7" 40mm off set wheels.

I don't see why I could not run the 225/50 tire but need to double check..

Beleive it or not, the SRT-4 ACR runs the same strut hight we do. If you mozy on over to the srtforums and go to the auto-X section, somebody will show you how they had to grind away a bit to fit some tires in there. With the SRT-4 struts (regular SRT-4) you will have more clearance. I bought 4 used SRT-4 struts (with only 5K miles i think) for $140 shipped to my door. found open box but new koni's for $375 shipped. So for the price of new illumina's, i got the konis (which are better anyways).

well I will be getting the normal srt struts for the konis. I was just mking sure I could run a 225/50/16 tire with them.

Definatly. Those guys are running quite a bit larger on the SRT-4 struts. The koni+srt struts are a great combo. If you want great handling, throw in the Hotchkis springs. If you want great ride quality, throw in the Eibach pro kit.
