I have a theory that I need to prove...
Look around at cars. The antenna is the highest-reaching point of 99% of cars, right? My theory is that, because a car is made of metal, if your antenna sits significantly below your roof line, then your roof is accepting more of the radio frequency spectrum than your antenna! I have to do some research on it to see if it's actually the case.
Are people having trouble with the stubby antennas on stock radios or aftermarket? Or both?
