Stock radio swap?

Post by blue_sxt » Tue Mar 14, 2006 10:06 am

Got a couple of quick questions for everyone. First of all, can I swap a factory radio from a 2004 Neon into a 2000 Neon? Secondly, can someone give me tips on how to get the heater/radio bezel off so I can do this. Does it just attach with clips and pop off? Any help will be appreciated.

The two main top vents need to be popped off first. Just push all the way down or all the way up on it, and if you have small enough fingers, you can get a grip and pull 'em out. If not, just get something long and thing to simulate the fingers for leverage.

After that, you'll see two screws there, remove 'em and then try and get your fingers behind the bezel and yank it out. There are clips all around it so don't be the incredible hulk and rip it out; one section at a time ;)

As for the radio, I put in an aftermarket head unit, so I'm not sure about putting a stock radio in there. Wouldn't it be the same?

There should be adapters avaliable for using different radios. Check with your local Mopar dealer.
