Burnout?

Post by Marthby » Thu Mar 16, 2006 8:46 pm

So I'm gonna get some new, better tires for my car and well, I pretty much don't need the old ones anymore. I kinda wanna have some fun with the old tires and do BURNOUTS!!! But can a FWD, ATX Neon do a burnout? If so, how?! I've never done one and it looks like fun. LOL

E-brake and lots of bleach water. Makes for good smoke.

Edit: Also watch if you're going to completely roach them to their deaths - Watch for the steel belts in the them if they start flying out of the tire, they'll shread your wheel wells and scratch paint. I saw a moron with a Honda Civic do this and he tore out his plastic wheel wells and ripped a side skirt off his body kit. It was quite humorous.

ROFLMFAO!!! Niiiiice! K, I'll watch out not to do that lol! I can't get this down right though... I'll try the bleach water later but what do you mean E-Brake? Like, set the E-Brake then do what? Put it in drive and floor it??? I'm a big noob when it comes to cars. Can someone tell me what to do step-by-step exactly?

if my car can peel out with some 17s then you should be able to burn out. i think all you need to do put the bleachy water near the tires, and just gas it on the water. you should burn out.

or you can be crazy and put the rear wheels on trays and do some donuts. which i think is not good for the tranny tho, so dont do it.

lay down a nice puddle of water, then pull up on the parking brake (e-brake, the hand brake behind the shifter.) then mash the gas. you might have to hold your foot on the regular brake and rev up the engine a little and then take your foot off the brake and mash the gas.

from what i have heard you want to put the shifter into first or low. these transmissions are not designed to shift through burnouts like race transmissions. if you have the 4 speed auto then it might shift itself but the 3 speed auto should stay in first until you move the shifter.

most of the time when I try to do a burnout I pull my ebarke and I will still move forward and can't stay still. So I have it in drive, pull the ebrake, hold the brake pedal, gas just enough to where I feel it wanting to pull and then let off the brake pedal and there you go.

Hell when it rains I DRIFT my car on occassion, but its a ghetto fwd drift. I take this corner off the highway at about 35-40mph, pop the clutch and rev it a bit, then tap the brake and yank the ebrake real quick to get sideways. I held like a 20 foot slide on these shit stock tires, and as soon as i get off the brake and gas the car jumps right back to where i want it at the turn of the wheel. Neons are fun little cars to be bad in

Never had any trouble doing burnouts on my stock steelies, even the occasional one without the ebrake lol Dont hold ur regular brake and try to get ur rpms up, thats needless heat to ur tranny and a hot tranny is the last thing you want in a chrysler product lol the water and ebrake should be enough, and by all means use drive not low lol

Be careful with your Diff as the diff pin has a tendency to come out and completely damage your tranny.

I thought it was more difficult to burnout with an ATX?

it can be in a low power car. with an atx you can only rev the engine up to the flash stall of the convertor, but on a manual you can rev it up to the rev limiter if you wanted. and also the atx sucks up more power.

I drifted my neon once, i was on a straight in front of a school, gunned it (cause i saw kids around and im a show off.lol) got up to about 45, came aroun the turn taped the brake(no e-brake) and Four Wheel Drifted. I was like holy Sh1t! did i just do that? It might have been the Brand New tires. but i have yet to do it again so I'm guessing it was a stroke of luck. or maybe its all the Initial D I've been watching. :-D

I did a massive burnout in my MTX neon, e-brake, and 6500 RPM clutch dump. Smoked both the front tires, when I dumped the e-brake I left a good long stretch of rubber down. I love it. I think when I get my new rims, I'm gonna kill these tires.

yuor telling me your n/a neon will burn in 3rd form a stop. i can roast 1st, and get into second, but it dies out. and i have FAR more power then your n/a noen, plu sim on SHITTY tires atr like 50psi (to help with not having power steering in the corners).

i mean, if im going, and acc in first, i can spin thru 2nd, but not in a brunout....

i can chirp third while rowing through the gears (while moving), i dont see any reason why he couldnt (if hes doing a burnout) provided he was on water and already had the momentum of the tires spinning during the burnout if the e-brake is holding him

See, I have so much traction in my ACR that it takes a wet road and high speed turn for my 45k miles tires to break loose. You all just need to learn to drive thru the turns

sorry, just playin, dont take it serious. Although the wet road/turn is true.

Ya. with dry pavement and all i cant get into third without dieing but when its wet like we were discussing i can shift into third after a few minutes.
