late acceleration

Post by Paralyzer » Thu Mar 16, 2006 10:27 pm

ok here is the deal. I don't know if this falls under loose gas pedal or what but it is annoying. I can be driving down the road and want to pass and car....so I push down on the pedal and it does the following:

push down.......(pause)........then revs up and goes and revs really high and then when it changes gears my belt squeals....

WTF is going on with my car. Someone please help me!

i noticed my neon would have a slight pause when i floor it, then it would start accelerating. a way to correct it is to buy a 60mm TB. :)

if that was the case he should be able to feel the tranny disengage for a sec or two. kinda like when u put it in neutral while driving.. from what he wrote sounds like a belt is loose so get that fixed first to start narrowing it down.

ok I will do that. I have thought about just going ahead and getting an underdrive pully for it and new belt anyhow.

i think that's tipical auto tranny pownage...we used to have an auto cirrus v6 and it would have a pause for 1-2 seconds every time to hit the gas. autos suck

I thought I read a post where they did find a way. I can't remember if it was this forum or SRTforums where I saw it. I will research it again for you.

im with rice_eater on this one. you have to give the computer a sec to think. i wouldnt worry about it unless it just started doing it and it never has before. if that is the case check out the dealer and ask them whats up.

i thought it was only the 02 r/ts that had the cel problem with udp's
