Gasket ?, need fast answer

well since i forgot to install the spark plug seals today i started the project i had bought the the seals at the stealership for 6 a piece, well when i took the vc off the head the rubber seal fell out of the groove that goes around the vc.... i tried countless times i even called my gf out to help me try get the seal back on and it was basically about an 1inch longer then it was when i put it on.

well the question is do i need a new one or is there anyway i can get that one to fit.

is this normal?

whats the retail on ones of these?

Heck for the price you paid for those 6 seals I got the seal kit from the parts store. only costed me $22. It consisted of every seal for the valve cover: the spark plug seals, the actual valve cover gasket(long thing), and the bolt seals.

If you are talking about the long seal there is only one way it should go in. there is a little extra lip on one corner of the seal. Match that up witht he corner on the valve cover.

I bought a Valve cover gasket from the dealership today for $12, and the spark plug tube seals are each $5

Im going to return it tomorrow and I already ordered it from advance auto instead. I get a 20% discount there and even w/ out that, its only $26 and you get everything. the VC gasket, the bolt grommets, and the spark plug tube seals.
