Amp & Speaker Opinions

I'm looking at upgrading all of my speakers in my car and here's what I'm thinking of getting

- Amp: Alpine MRP-F450 (70x4 @ 4 ohm RMS) Price: $225 -or- orion 8004 Price: $250
- Component Speakers: MB Quart RCE216 (60-130 RMS) Price: $180 -or- Boston Acoustic SX60 Price: $310
- Rear Speakers: Boston Acoustics SX95 (60 RMS) Price: $150

The only thing is, I'm not sure what to go with for the front..both brand wise and size wise (do 5 1/4" fit better?) I was initially thinking going with the MB Quarts but I think the BA's might be better sound quality wise as they'll match up better with my 6x9's for the back. I'm pretty set on the alpine amp unless people have had problems with it or would strongly recommended one over the other.

I'm looking for pretty good SQ..basically something thats a good improvement over the stock speakers and I like how BA speakers sound and I've read everywhere that MB Quarts are good but I've never actually heard them.

Have you looked at Infinity? I'm running the doors (6.5) and the sound quailty is great.

Haven't had a problem with them before and my installer fiance swears by them...

i would recomend keeping the same brand/style speakers for front and back, soudn quality will be better and feel right. at least it does to me, and it looks uniform... unless you hide your speakers...

I personally use all Sony in my car, soudns like a dream...

Hmmm... If you really only want one of those two choices, I'd go with the Bostons.

But! I think you could make yourself happier if you went with infinities. I've had them in my cars since I've been driving and they've never let me down. Maybe you could even find some of the old white infinity references on ebay. They're nice. For the tweeters though, I can't tell one tweeter from another SQ-wise.

But don't worry about the amp it'll do you fine, Alpine's a good name.

Don't get 5 1/4's if you can fit 6 1/2's!

I think I would rather get boston acoustic over infinity. I've heard both in different cars and the bostons sounded a lot better I thought. So I think I will probably go with the SX components up front and SX 6x9's in the back.

I had Inifinity's in my Olds Bravada and Boston Acoustics in my S-10 and the BA's sounded much clearer - Crystal clear.

I ended up finding those BA components on ebay on the cheap so I ended up getting everything even though I was planning on waiting a while..oh well haha.
