underdrive pulleys?
underdrive pulleys?
Is there a reason why the mpx udp is cheaper than the unorthodox udp on the modern site? Is the URTDX better quality or what?

ooooh there ya go! from what i know the mpx udp is very high quality, and comes with belts as well. the unorthodox is 'name brand' so naturally it is going to cost a bit more. unorthodox is a well respected company and theyre known for making the best pullys on the market. Im sure a few people have em and they can tell you more. good luck

The unorth is a great pulley - it was super light in comparison to the stock pulley. I would say the difference in price would be the R&D that goes into designing a pulley from scratch (which is what UR does). The MPX is most likely a knock-off of another pulley.

I run the MPX - it's fine - well made, comes with belts and way light (notes are in the car). Just make sure (like with any pulley install) that you are careful with belt alignment. Get that right and you won't have to think about it again for years.

I'm running an Ebay UDP w/ NAPA belts, honestly I feel I got more power with the UDP Vs the Lorenzo 60mm. Basically im running the stock TB righ now and I dont see or feel any difference Vs having the Lorenzo TB. The MDx TB is a different story though.....
As for the UDP, if you have an 02 PL then you will have problems, misfire codes. As for any other year from what I read and hear you should be fine.

UR pulley comes with a removable ring so you can swap out an even smaller pulley for say if you're at the track. The smaller pulley only allows the use of the alternator belt b/c you need an alternator and removes the acc. belt (power steering and A/C)
MPx is just a billet piece but costs far less than the UR pulley.
Personally I have the UR pulley and love it and install was cake.

Stock pulley = 5.25lbs
MPx = 1.5lbs

I would take the Unorthodox any day, but as long as money comes into play, you will gain much more per dollar from the MPx.
