Dyno'd today....

Post by ChrisRT » Sun Mar 26, 2006 7:24 pm

I had my 17 inch, Enkei RS-6's on. It was a cool day today, around 40*'s or so, humidity was a little high, as it was sprinkling on and off.

Anyways, 3rd gear pull, netted 128whp/123wtrq. The only mod was an E-bay cool air intake.

Not really close to where I thought it would be.(I thought around 135whp) But, I was reminded that I was using 17 inch rims, and it does detract from the power a little.

Anyways, I might take it to the track in a couple of weeks, after I get the MPx underdrive pulley, and Thermal axle-back installed. Hopefully, I can crack 90mph in the quarter with it.

My friends bone stock R/T, hit 90+ at the track when he first had it.

We've got a "good" track down here.

the average for 2g magnum is like 126-130 stock, factoring in the CAI and the 17s thats about right.

i did 136whp, but i had 14" 1g R/T wheels and a K&N filter.. wheels do help

I just threw the Thermal R&D at it yesterday, might head to the track friday night, just to see what the ol' turd runs!

I was dynoing on 87 octane as well, not sure what everyone else uses in their R/T's.

Pfft.
Just kidding.
Weight redux and 14s on the front are your friend, Chris...but I'm sure you know that.

You know I can bang some gears, baby ;)

I've got some small slicks, but I don't wanna use'em, maybe I can find a set of drag radials to borrow from someone...

Just curious, but why do the pull in 3rd gear? I thought we were supposed to do the pull in 4th because it is closest to 1:1

I was just going to ask that too. After unsuperman's post about his dyno experience, it would seem that third gear would have given higher torque numbers than what ChrisRT got....I'm confuzzled now.

I did a pull in 4th gear and got 119/102. It was absolutely terrible.

Everyone I've ever remembered has always done pulls in 3rd gear with neons.
