Im finally back.....boy things changed around here *edited*

I dont know if its a good thing or not, its been a few months since I had the money let alone a computer to really start helping others again. But one thing I have noticed is this forum is starting to get more and more topics sounding like the F'n ORG.
What is going on here? I cant keep up with topics anymore because there are more and more reposts of the same topics, or people are bashing each other in other topics....what the hell happened?
This site use to keep my relaxed when I got home from a long days worth of work and lately when I read topics people are just bashing each other left and right. I dont know if its just me or what not. Maybe its because the last topic I bitched in makes me think this forum has changed, I dont know but I needed somewhere to say something other than the million page off topic,person above you, or this or that...

Anyway, on the subject of bashing, etc. It seems like every board I've been to has a period of that that it goes through. Whether or not it is under control is what separates good boards from bad boards. For example, one forum I visit has a section DEDICATED to flame wars. This might seem like a good idea, you know, contain it all in one place? But it goes WAY too far in this 'Battlefied' and vendettas are held through other parts of the board. This specific area has a no-moderation policy. NOT a good idea in my opinion. Conversely, another board I visit only has 3 or 4 mod/admin people and in the 2 years since it's moved to new software and a new server I can only count maybe 10 instances where things have really gotten out of hand (and that was usually because the mods weren't around). In most cases they ended with the propgator of the shit-talking leaving the board, or being IP-banned.

As far as reposts and n00bs coming in asking about CAI's and SRT swaps, well, that's also something that happens in every board. You have to kind of look at it in a positive light that there's one more person that's interested in our cars, but I can understand how irritating it gets. The only real remedy is an FAQ that covers all these topics, even something that points to a well-established thread containing a good amount of knowledge. For example, something like a thread that chronicles someone's SRT swap, etc. Even with an FAQ like that, though, people are still going to be lazy: 1.) Sign Up 2.) Make new thread in every section asking about 'how to get 200 hp in my ATX Neon'.
