srt-4 front bumper

Post by Nick Drake » Wed Mar 29, 2006 11:00 pm

I was just wondering how much an srt-4 front bumper would lower the front of an 05 sxt. Also which year srt's bolt up to the 05 neons? I've never looked into srt's.

Thanks for the input!

any srt front will work on any 2nd gen, but there is an issue with the hood fitment (very debateable, some say its too big, some say too short). The hood deal isnt a major prob from what i hear, its just been said that the srt fascia works BEST with the srt hood. and as far as the clearance of the srt front, id GUESS youll be between 1/2"-1" lower, but im not positive. hope that helps.

Very much so, I just didn't want it to be too low. That's what I wanted to hear. Thanks bro.

I like your idea with the lip kit, 'cause I love the 03+ front bumpers, I just want it to look a little more aggressive.

I'll check the prices.

Well I went to the stealership and checked the prices. First off it took about 5 minutes to get the guy at the parts desk to understand what I was talking about (70 year old man who's apparently never heard of a lip kit).

He couldn't find it in the book, the closest thing he could find was a full on "Body Kit" for about 750 dollars. I hate dealers.

Can you get them online? I tried looking at the mopar site but I couldn't find anything too relevent.

check out moparsupercenter.com they have them, i think thay sell each part separatly. it comes out to about 800 bucks or so, maybe 1000 or more if you buy the prepainted ones. the "body kit" in the dodge book at the dealer is the lip kit. they guy couldnt find it here either, but we got it under the body section, and its about 750, then if you want it installed its another 250, and that doesnt include paint. youre looking at 1000 bucks easy no matter what, unless you buy it used, like me! mines on the way as we speak, 200 shipped (didnt get the rear, but i dont really want it anyways.)

lol oh man if that was the case everyone would have one. the one BIG downside IMO about an srt front on a neon is the fact that you look like a total ricer/poser cuz you aint got the motor to back it up. then again, if you dont care about that, its a great looking front end. go with what works. i think the srt fascia is like 5-600 new from the dealer, and you can MAYBE find a used one for about half that. no matter which way you put it, body work=$$$. good luck

Yeah but a little strip of plastic that big should never be anywhere near 1 grand. Good find on yours though.

What is it, just doublesided tape and some bolts? or are you gonna reinforce it (might be overkill, I don't know how big they are.)?

My BuddyClub2 front bumper is lower than my SRT4 one was and my BC2 one still has plenty of clearance, maybe 3 inches off the ground

I wish there were more good junk yards around here. The ones near me are all filled with 90% pickups and 10% crappy 20 year old cars.

Damn Tennessee.
